CPU usage seems to sit between 10 and 20% when you are performing tasks in the virtual machine and have Pandora running on the host. When stuff starts slowing down it sometimes jumps up a few percent but it never reaches 70%. Memory usage sits between 50 and 60% with a virtual machine running and performing activities. The virtual machines are all configured with 40 GB hard drives and 1 GB of RAM. The mouse jumps all around the screen instead of moving slowly, it takes minutes to switch focus from one window to another, if you have Pandora or Winamp open playing music the audio starts skipping and eventually stops until the VMWare session is done doing whatever it's doing. Starting up, shutting down, and certain random tasks inside a VM session grinds the Windows host to a halt. Maybe a little slower while the VMs were open but it wasn't a big deal.Īfter installing VMWare Player 9 there seems to be some really big performance issues.
